Past Projects

Over the last few years I've made quite a few items. I'm a bit of a perfectionist (not always a good thing) and my wife would probably say that I'm not when it comes to keeping the house tidy! So although I haven't always been 100% happy with what I've made (in fact

almost never), customers always seem to be!

You can be rest assured, that if I ever make anything for you I will do my utmost to make it as near to perfect as possible (with wood being a natural product it's hard to control every single aspect e.g. colour and grain). And if you aren't happy then I will do everything I can to make things right.

Here are a few of the things recently made:

Cheese Board with Chutney Pots

James (head chef at our fave cafe Willow Tea Room) had his 60th a few weeks ago and so to celebrate Kat and I did a little collaboration. Two beautiful chutney bowls from Kat and an oak cheese board from me.

More importantly the cake... James' Pancake Cake - to celebrate the recent pancake day. Layered pancakes with salted caramel and chocolate. Delicious as it sounds. If you want to experience Willow Tea Room just google "willow tearoom barnham". They have an instagram page but it currently doesn't do them justice! https://www.instagram.com/.../willow-tea-room-barnham/

I'm trying to build up content on the woodwork website.
'm going to start adding products for sale soon. www.Oaksmith.net

Kat's pottery business is at https://www.handthrown.co.uk/

Tips Box for Strobilus Cafe Chichester

Chichester has a new Strobilus Cafe Chichester which is very good. The lovely staff (Nino, Maria and Tony) were kind enough to give Adam work experience last week. He did OK and even got a £2 tip which he was rather chuffed by. But it made them realise that they didn't have a tip box.

To say thanks for looking after him (and feeding him daily with a slice of delicious gluten free Almond cake) I decided to make them one.

The whole team were delighted. So if you want to see an example of my work just go to Stobilus Cafe (Raspberry Cream cake and Walnut Honey cake are my current faves). â€‹

Simple Oak Cross for Family Grave

A good friend mentioned that her first husband's family grave was not marked in their local graveyard. On one occasion they even left flowers in the wrong place. She asked if I could make something small to mark their family resting place.

Oak Letter Opener(s)

I wanted to make something for a friend to mark his 60th birthday. Although only small, I decided a letter opener might be a useful thing to have. He seems to be delighted with it. A week later I had a request for another - from his girlfriend who said...

"Thank you so much for my lovely letter opener. Is so tactile. I might even open my 'boring' post now"
